I often get asked, why a Chris Evans site? The answer to that question is...several years ago I was watching the "Not Another Teen Movie" DVD for the first time and at the end of the movie I was blown away by this guy who was playing the character of Jake Wyler. Aside from his looks, I could tell this guy was gifted with a very natural acting ability! So I quickly got online and hoped to find a site dedicated to this guy who went by the name of Chris Evans. Imagine my disappointment when I didn't find a single site. So I got to thinking and decided to ask my friend Dianna if she was willing to help me build a site dedicated to Chris. Luckily, she agreed to help and in April of 2003 Chris-EvansV.net officially opened. I knew absolutey nothing about websites, I had no idea what html even was at the time. During this two year period, several notable things happened. First, this guy James had posted on my guestbook claiming to be one of Chris's good friends. There he filled everyone in on some Chris facts which of course elated everyone. He also sent me three exclusive photos of Chris to confirm his credibility. James and I were emailing each other and I decided to ask if he would be willing to help me out with a Q&A type of session with Chris, since he talked to him fairly often. He agreed to help and began asking Chris questions that fans had sent to me, while he was on the "Cellular" set. James did this for several months for us but eventually we lost contact. Shortly after that, Rye had emailed me to say that Chris Evans himself had posted a message on my guestbook! You can only imagine the unexplainable feeling this caused in me. I had never expected this to happen...ever. Chris thanked me for making the site and let everyone in on a movie he had just booked called, "Fierce People." I was a bit reluctant at first because it would have been very easy for someone to pose as Chris, but in his guestbook entry Chris said two things that shot down my suspicions. One, nobody knew anything about a movie titled "Fierce People" at the time. (A month or so after he let us know about "Fierce", the news was finally confirmed on imdb) And two, Chris said, "james says hi", at the end of his entry. Only Rye and myself knew about James and who he was. Chris then posted twice more on my guestbook over the course of a week or so. After that, I received an email from him and he promised to send on-the-set photos while he was filming "Cellular" but this was a case of bad timing because he sent them at a time when my email server wasn't working correctly, so I never got them. The three guestbook entries that Chris made on the guestbook are still there so if you're intersted, you can read them. |
